At what point is our current administration going to admit his policy of open membership has serious faults. The site is being hacked on a regular basis, maybe a little less freestyle and a little more finding out what guys like “guidestartup80” know about canoes.
I embarrassed and disappointed to see the site being mishandled in the name of Google ratings

This is a 'whack a mole' problem because hackers are always working very hard to find new ways into sites like this. I have the same issues with the WCHA forum. I'm confident that the volunteer administrators will clean it all up in good time so I would encourage some patience.

For everyone's information:

Under the current administration this site has NEVER had a "policy of open membership," NO registrant has ever been "unvetted," and the site has NEVER been "hacked" nor been "down" for even a minute. These are total misconceptions. In addition, there has NEVER been even one instance where any bug has disabled any feature of the site.

Since September 2021, when this administration took over this malfunctioning and dying site, there have been 8,664 attempted registrants, of which our multiple screening procedures rejected 6,454 applicants and accepted 2,210. During that 50 month period, we have experienced 122 innocuous commercial spam posters, every single one of which was detected, spam cleaned and banned within a few hours of their overnight appearance by our all-volunteer staff the next morning.

Thank you all for tolerating the inevitable, rare, brief and minor spam posts, which have appeared at the trivial rate of 2.44 a month, and thanks to our volunteer staff who work every single day on these and many other site technical issues.
