U.S. Military Surplus Scow Sled

For those of you thinking about winter camping here's a great sled. We used them in while I was in the Army and always like the way they handled.

That seems to be a decent deal for the price. There was a thread on a winter camping forum and most of the posters seemed to agree that a more modern pulk and harness or the non-rigid plastic toboggan was the most useful for hauling and back country pursuits. The weight of the surplus unit was one downside, certainly. I would like one in any case...

No, I've done my share of winter camping in the Army. Altho I'm not just a fair weather camper, I do believe I'll sit the winters out next to my stove in the house.
