This weekend was the last release of the year on Fife Brook section of the Deerfield River in western MA, so when my buddy Aaron texted me looking to go, I was in. We talked about paddling solo, but decided to do our third tandem run instead. We were the only canoe with a bunch of kayaks – what else is new. We did a lot of playing at the top, went a little too far right and had a wet run through Zoar Gap, and then continued down to Shunpike – 4 hours on the river. Here is the run in 1 minute and 22 seconds.
I did a lot of tandem paddling this year - I need to get out in my solo boats.
