Snubbing down the Machias

I think I saw this video on a FB canoe poling group. My comment then is the same as now: "Like a boss!"

What's the pink grip tape you are using on the pole?

I watched the video, and then looked at some of his other ones. The one on the Lamoille River, just north of where my son lives in VT, looks like a great place to take my w/c canoe this coming week while I visit my son! Pretty amazing what a veteran poler can do in rapids.

Wow.Those are some calm skills on a very pretty river. Thanks Carp. I would love to see more like this.

Thank you for posting this! I really enjoyed it. You make it look easy, but I know that it's not!

Rick, Once you have poling down, lots of practice, it's not that hard. I have always found snubbing harder then going upstream and Carp is very good at it! Next time I'm in VT I should hook up with you and we should hit a local river.

Neat! I think I need to get myself a pole.

I'm a little surprised at how the canoe would "Hang" for a moment while you swapped ends on the pole - I expected the water to be pushier.
