I have read all the messages and there is a lot of good information here. i purchased this afternoon a 47 inch foxworx straight paddle from Joe at placid. It will get me started and learning it is a good start. as most of you have said I will only use it for tight places and use the carbon Fiber Werner kayak paddle I have been using for the past 2 years on my kayak which also happens to be 24 inches wide. Thank all of you for your responses I have a lot to learn.
