"What would you portage a marathon for? A Minnesota man recently ran the entire Twin Cities Marathon while carrying a canoe to raise awareness for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCA). He now plans to portage a marathon every week for an entire year . . . ."

Extra credit for identifying the canoe model.

It's a Northstar! It has the pack setup, you can see the bolts on the outside of the hull, which is how Northstar attaches their kayak-style footpegs.

I didn't figure out the model until I scrolled down and saw a side shot of the canoe, which felt like cheating, so I won't spoil it here.

I need to show this to my wife, who provided a perhaps disproportionate amount of complaining during the .3 mile portage on the Rollins Ponds loop.

I've been looking at that canoe, trying not to see the model name (where did you see it?), and the best I can figure is it's a Trillium Pack as Northstar calls them. I think. The shouldered tumblehome of the Trillium isn't obvious on this canoe and it seems like it should be. Length seems about right.

I scrolled down and read the article, there’s a clear side profile there. Hint: you’re Trillium guess is a little long.

Ya, it did look more like a 12' canoe but I'd forgotten about the ADK 12. It does make more sense running a marathon with a 21 lb canoe; I mean if running 26.2 miles with a canoe on your shoulders is considered sensible. 😝

And I noticed this showed up...

The guy has a good sense of humor.

In your defense the ADK is perhaps a forgettable canoe. Unless you pond hopping or running a marathon. Then it’s exactly what you need.
