What IS legal is a short barrelled shotgun. ( 18 inches min)

Actually, in the vast pot of confusion known as Canadian Firearms Laws, a pump action or break action shot gun can have any length barrell, even 12 inches, if it comes from the factory like that, and the overall length of the gun is 26 inches. If you saw the barrel down yourself, you are a criminal.

I carry a mossy Maverick 88 with an 18 inch barrel when required to. I can't hit crap with a 12 inch barrel.

Thanks for the advise on the Ruger LCR. I sold 4 other guns and it was enough to cover the price of a new .357 LCR. It is going to take a little practice shooting as I'm not used to the double action trigger and the 1 7/8" barrel didn't help.
