About the only thing I dislike on my 2023 Subaru Outback XT is the factory rack. I have had a Thule square bar rack since my 2014 and 2017 BMW’s and it has served me well for 9 years. So I have been searching for a way to use the Thule on my Subaru and I may have found solution.
Thule no longer makes a mount that works with the old square bars, only for their new design square bars. There is another rack manufacturer, INNO who offers a square bar rack and the bar dimensions are the same as the original Thule square bars. The mount is part # INFR and I am mounting to the aluminum end caps that are on the Gen 6 rack. Supposedly Subaru designed these end caps as tie down points and are bolted to the roof. The bar spread measures 60”. I took the boats for a short ride at 60 mph and everything was secure.
