What condition? Motor included? Recently restored?

Estimates for top condition, period-correct motor included, collector interest level: $1800-$2500

Average condition, no motor, no collector interest: same as most other old fiberglass canoes. $300-$600

I guess it depends if there is actually any demand. Rare or not if no one is collecting them then it's not worth much. I honestly don't know and like Tryin' said it will all come down to condition. Is this a wood canvas hull or some other kind of construction? Any pictures?

one seat is broken the yoke is loose some damage at tip of bow the rest looks solid

Unless there is something special about this particular make and model I'd expect it to be worth a couple hundred dollars..and that could be stretching it.

"Rare" sometimes hurts you. Even the most perfect (insert your favorite item) on the planet is of average (or less than average) value if nobody knows how special it is.

Pictures may help but I suspect that Alan's right & a couple hundred is the best your friend can hope for.

Old and rare models of canoes, like old and rare models of any product, are often rare for one good reason: They were never popular to begin with; there never was much demand for them. Hence, demand for such an unpopular old model will even be less now than when is was new. Such old models won't sell for much much more than a minimal "something that floats and can be paddled/motored" value.

Of course, there are rare buyers who are interested in collecting rare models of rare old things. If a seller can luck into such a buyer, a higher price can be gotten. The best tactic is to offer the canoe for sale in all available venues, such as the Classifieds forum here and other boating websites, and various Facebook pages such as Marketplace, as well as local venues such as Craigslist.
