On Sunday, September 7, 2025, I will be circumnavigating Twin Lakes—Washining Lake and Washinee Lake (meaning "laughing water" and "smiling water" in Mahican)—which are in the extreme northwest corner of Connecticut. The lakes are interconnected by a channel. This trip should be very accessible to our members in the Mid-Hudson Valley, NY, and Southwestern Massachusetts. The trip can be adjusted between 8-10 miles.

We will put in at the free CT state Twin Lakes Boat Launch, which is down a short dirt road off of Twin Lakes Road about 1/2 mile north of O'Hara's Landing. The address of O'Hara's for GPS purposes is 254 Twin Lakes Rd., Salisbury, CT 06068. (O'Hara's can be an alternate put-in if we have a lot of cars for a negotiable fee.)
The following website has lots of info and pictures of Twin Lakes, the passageway between them, the state boat launch, and O'Hara's:

East And West Twin Lakes - Salisbury- Litchfield - CT

Meeting time will be 9:30 am at the Twin Lakes Boat Launch for a put-in by 9:50.
Anyone can come. Invite other paddlers if you wish. I will also DM the NW CT roll call group about this trip.
