How much do you baby your composite boat on shore? (susceptibility to scratches?)

It all depends on the situation. If possible I take care of the boat by not making hard contact with shoreline rocks or dragging it.

In other situations I'll pull it over rocks when footing is bad or even load it on the rocks and then slide it into the water. I've even been known to get in while the canoe was still hung up on the rocks and then pushed off shore.

Sometimes I cringe a bit when making rocky landings when the wind is blowing onto the rocks and because of deep water I can't step out of the canoe away from shore. It always sounds uglier than it actually is.

They might get scratched but they're not easily "damaged." And repairs are easy enough.
