The guy tries to say that almost a million litres of raw sewage isn't all that much. That guy should be forced to immediately drink from that river. A-hole.

The Grand River has improved immensely in terms of water quality and ecosystem health, from the days when it was essentially a municipal sewer. With the madly growing population in places like where this spill took place, some cities will be reaching water treatment capacity in a few short years.
Also the ongoing agricultural nutrient loading from field runoff, challenges water quality improvements. I live in this watershed, so news like this really pi$$es me off. Last weekend my daughter #1 and hubby tried out their new kayaks along a pretty little stretch of this river. Spills like this sure could foul up an afternoon’s paddle!
