I've toyed with the idea of doing the Spey River from Newtonmore to the north sea at some point ... perhaps making a slow journey during a "Spirit of Speyside" weekend and enjoying two of my passions at the same time.
I've noticed in some of the vids of canoe trips on the river that paddlers customarily wear helmets. Is that a safety requirement (or optional to the paddler)?
Were some of your high elevation shots from the Cairngorms area?
I have way too many questions after looking at your photos:
Can you camp anywhere you like? Or are you in some designated park/preserve?
Do you need to keep any fires contained?
What is the elevation of the snow capped peaks?
Ski area lift ticket cost?
Where are the trees???!!
