With the gunwales finally steam bent onto the Rob Roy I've been pondering on how to round them over. I did a test run with some left over pieces which came out great but that was off the hull and I need to do this while they are on the boat. I had tried some power tools but that wasn't working at all so I resorted to hand tools, my hand plane and also the draw blade which I do love using. I have only done one side and I'm very pleased with how it came out. Need to finish the second side, mount the thwart and drill for the back band before I take the gunwales off and oil them as well as fill all the old screw holes in the lip of the cockpit. The deck plate will most likely be the last thing I'll put together as I have to mull that over as to what shape I want to make.
