Thanks for the links Jim! Hopefully this works as I’ve been unable to post text until now. Hopefully I’ll have some more photos to post soon as I just finished building a steam box and doing some test bends for the stems. I should be onto the real deal this week sometime.
 
Not a composite, but just finished my Freedom 17/9. The build in cedar strips was pretty straightforward.

That’s is a beautiful boat Traveler. I’m tempted to paint (or color the epoxy) the outside of the wooden hull. If I go that route, I’m torn between white or red. I was leaning towards white, but that red sure is a looker.

How do you like paddling the 17/9?
 
Thanks Andrew. A clear cedar hull all around is beautiful, but I have always liked the contrast between the cedar interior and a painted hull. If you go that route I would advise a coat or two of primer before the paint, so that the wood pattern doesn’t show through. I haven’t had this one on the water yet - hopefully in a week or so.
