Coffee in A Canoe

Any suggestions for a relatively spill-proof way to place a full cup of coffee in a canoe on calm water?

It's blindingly non-obvious to me why no one has suggested the blindingly obvious: a coffee mug with a spill-proof lid.

Then . . . in any wind or wave conditions in your canoe . . . you can . . . Let the Good Times Roll.

Any suggestions for a relatively spill-proof way to place a full cup of coffee in a canoe on calm water? I drink from a big ceramic mug (which I refill from a thermos-type container). I like to keep the mug of coffee down in front of me on the floor of the canoe where I can easily reach it. However, the mug wobbles a bit due to the shallow V-shaped chine. I haven’t spilled any coffee yet (not much, anyway), but I’m looking for a more stable way to hold that mug of coffee. Maybe some kind of canoe floor beanbag, or a gimbaled center-thwart holder of some kind?
Would something similar to the yoga block beverage holders described on this site work for your coffee mug?

A spill-proof lid might make one-handed sipping difficult. It can be nice to pause paddling long enough to sip coffee without having to set the paddle down.
