...For ice-out at Fulton Chain of Lakes? I may be in the area before my summer NFCT trip and would love to dip a paddle.

would like the ice to be out before then. I don't know how thick it is in Old Forge but my guess would be about May 11-15 for ice out.

Below are live cameras of the Fulton Chain. If I were a betting man I would guess a bit earlier that Yellowcanoe but she could very well be correct. In 2007 a team startng on April 28th ran into Ice on fourth lake and beyond.

Anyone planning on doing the NFCT and starting in Mid June should bring a headnet and DEET.

You can also keep your eye on the Adirondack canoe forum. Those folks typically report ice out at various places.
