March 2nd (Sat) (W/W Paddle) “East Sandy Creek” Cold water precautions advised!
Meet at 10 AM at the bridge in Van on Rt. 322. Water rating class I-II whitewater. Call
first: Burt Martin

March 3 (Sun) (W/W PADDLE) “South Sandy Creek” Cold Water precautions
advised! Meet at 10AM at Pecan Bridge, Old Rte. 8 South of Franklin, water rating I-II
whitewater, call first: Burt Martin

March 30 (Sat) (W/W/Paddle) “Slippery Rock Creek” Cold water precautions
advised! Meet at 10 AM at the junction of McCloy, Taggert and Crestview roads, near
Camp Crestfield. The is the annual Snowball Run! Call first: Harry Parkinson


April 6 (Sat) (PADDLE) “Tionesta Creek” Cold water precautions advised! LYNCH
TO KELLETTVILLE , Meet 10AM at the bridge in Kellettville, just off rt. 666. This is a
15 mile class I paddle. Call first: Burt Martin at

April 13 (Sat) (Paddle) “Mahoning River” Lowellville, OH to near New Castle PA,
about 9 miles. Cold water precautions advised. Meet 10AM at the new park 2 blocks
west of the bridge. Call first: Harry Parkinson

April 20, (Sat) (Paddle) “Oil Creek”. Titusville to Petroleum Center. Meet 10AM Jersey
Bridge boat launch/Drake Well Bike Trail Head.(Class I, 10 miles) LOCATION SUBJECT

April 27-28 (Sat-Sun) (W/W Paddle) “PA Grand Canyon” Cold water precautions
advised! Saturday, Ansonia to Blackwell, Class I-II, 16 miles; Sunday another section
of Big Pine Creek. Call first: Burt Martin,

May 4 (Sat) (Paddle) “Lower Slippery Rock” We will paddle from near Portersville
down to the Connoquenessing Creek and on into Ellport. We will meet at Brown’s
Restaurant in Portersville, DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE FIREHOUSE! Call first

May 11, (Sat.) (Paddle) “Clarion River” Meet 10AM at the Cook Forest Park office,
near the Rt. 36 bridge in Cooksburg. Paddle distance and from where to where
depends upon water level and group’s interests at that time. Call first John McGoldrick


May 12 (Sun.) (Bike Ride) “Oil Creek State Park”. Meet at 1 pm at the trailhead in
Petroleum Center. Bike through the valley that changed the world. Call first Dotty
Steenson

May 25-27 (Memorial Day Weekend (Sat.-Mon.) (West Branch Susquehanna River
Camp-Out) Paddle distance around 42 miles (Frenchville station to Keating) Primitive
camping. Call first Burt Martin.

May 31-June 2 (Fri.-Sun.) “Solo Canoe Rendezvous” All Day at Coopers Lake
Campground, off US 422 just west of I 80. Great opportunity to meet other canoe
enthusiasts, and to try out some very high end solo canoes. One of our members,
Bruce Kemp, is one of the organizers. More info see wpascr.org.
June 8 (Sat.) “Shenango River Spring Rally” For information check their website:

June 15 (Sat.) “French Creek, Utica to Franklin” Meet at 10:00 at the Utica put-in,
at the northeast side of the bridge. Many of you will be coming on 322, look for Utica
Road, which will be between Cochranton and Franklin. Take it for about 2 miles to the
bridge. Call first Stephen Fedosick

June 22, (Sat.) “Lower Mahoning River” Meet at the McKinney Russell Boat
Launch, 611 Covert Road, New Castle. Take out shortly after confluence with the
Shenango. Call First Harry Parkinson
