"The 19th Kringelfieber will happen from Thursday, 30th April 2026, to Sunday, 3rd May 2026, at the established place on the peninsula of the camping ground Teichmann in Vöhl close to the Edersee."

What the heck does "Kringelfieber" mean? No problem. I took German 65 years ago in high school, and also recall my maternal grandfather swearing in German.

"Fieber" means fever. "Kringel" is a bit more contorted in meaning. It can mean ring-shaped or curly. Or like the shape of a curly, twisted bakery pastry such as a soft pretzel. My German grandfather was a baker. Here's his bakery in Staten Island, NY, in the early 1930s.

I think Kringelfieber, aka circle fever, aka curly fever, is also called the Pretzel Show. Our European members can correct my beschissenes Deutsch.

Anyone who goes to this freestyle and Canadian style and general style canoe gathering, please take some pictures and post them here. Danke!

SAdly i do.not attend this year. I have some great memories of previous years.

I learned some nice things there.had some great conversations . Some people turned into friends. I have paddles many models there for the first or only time..
this was a magical paddle .
The music was addded later. When this paddling was done. Was a late evening after the perfomances on music earlier when it was a bit windy. later in the evening the wind went the fog came and we put the lights back on.

One other highlight is the kringelfieberkringel.
a session where most boats. get on the water and do a great mix of canandian and ameirncan style paddling , normale paddling funciton and flashy freestyle.
theis is the first part, after the circling there comes a magical play where all mix and do normal and wierd stuff.
