Funny thing is, the Malecite is the only boat that my wife doesn't want me to sell. She prefers it to the Bell Seliga that I thought would replace it. She likes it better because it's more stable, but it is also less effected by the wind and has better glide and is faster.

Hi and welcome. I have two Malecites, it's a great boat. For a new experience try paddling it solo from the stern seat, with or without any added weight. I weigh around 190lbs and have been paddling all my tandems from the stern seat for the last 8 of my 50+ years of paddling.

It looks like you had a real nice day for it. I'm guessing you guys did more paddling then that, are more TRs forthcoming?

I like the scratches. The more scratches, the more fun you've had. You can't think about scratches on your canoe like you would about them on your car. With a canoe they are inevitable. Great trip report BTW.

Hopefully they will have a baby or two next spring.

It looks well designed and I think it should work Jim. Get out there and give it a try. While nobody likes wind on a trip, I find it can make a day trip more interesting as well as better exercise.
