    plain hamburger

Hamburgers in the bush are great, oh so good! Regarding spam and the like, the only individually portioned, foil-pouch 'meat' I have been able to find in Canada is Clover Leaf tuna, single slices of spam, or pouches of chicken, don't seem to be available.

    Happens every year

Here in my part of Southern Ontario, near Sarnia, its not a problem finding groundhogs, nor is it a problem to find a coyote, their numbers have increase significantly in the past 20 years.

    T-Satellite

For me, the single device is not appealing, I don't want all my eggs in one basket. To me, there are many benefits of a Garmin over a cell phone, such as it is a much more ruggedly built device. And the Garmin is always in my pfd, I don't have to go looking for it.

    What's your best dehydrated meal?

And the recipe would be? Come on, you can't just tell us that you make and dehydrate yourself, say it was popular, show a mouth-watering picture and NOT share the recipe? Come on, man!

    What's your best dehydrated meal?

I like Knorr cheddar broccoli rice sidekick with additional dehydrated veggies and a clover leaf tuna pouch. Another favourite is instant mashed potatoes (doctored with garlic and other spices), dehydrated veggies and dehydrated hamburger or even rehydrated homemade beef jerky or sliced up...

    Rope Recommendations

For tarp ridge lines, I use 6mm static cord, which has a tensile strength of around 700 lb. The benefit of static cord vs paracord is that static cord does not stretch...

    Wife’s New Car

Back in August, I was looking to replaced my 1996 Land Rover Discovery. I figured it was going to be hard to replace given how much stuff I can put in, put on top, and pull with the Disco. I ended up buying a 2022 Toyota Rav4. Somewhat surprisingly, it can hold almost as much as the Disco...

Candle Lantern: Safely use in a tent? How to clean?

Yes, a candle lantern can be used safely. Camping in late autumn/early winter, I use my UCO candle lantern in my 4 season tent just before going to bed and first thing in the morning to add a bit of warmth and to remove condensation, it does the job.

Your three favorite pieces of comfort or luxury canoe camping gear

I thought about writing down Whiskey (or Whisky, depending if it is Irish or Scotch) as a luxury, but it feels more like a necessity :)

Your three favorite pieces of comfort or luxury canoe camping gear

Big Agnes Big Six Camp Chair. It took a while to finally pull the trigger on this chair because of the price, but once I sat in it, wow, it is so comfortable and sturdy and when packed away it is only marginally larger than much smaller chairs. Insulated Camp Chair Cover for the Big Six Camp...
