The Spork, Do you use one?

Yeah, that's the ting that didn't make sense to me either, why do I want prongs on a spoon? Regarding the Tilley hat, I've had mine at least 30 years. I'm pretty sure it wasn't some sort of a fashion statement when I bought, I bought it to keep the sun off my head.

    Pillows

I too have the same Thermarest compressible pillow, love it. My wife uses the Fun Guy livery Thermarest compressible pillow, along with a Nemo Fillo pillow, fully inflated put under her sleep pad. The Fillo tilts up her pad, which helps her sleep, kind of simulates a wedge pillow, which she...

    Life jacket suggestions

Absolutely, comfort is the top priority. Astra pfds seem to get good reviews. I would have liked to have bought a Salus pfd due to being made in Canada, but their pfds just didn't feel comfortable on me. I ended up buying an NRS Odyssey because it was comfortable, nice size pockets, and...

    Canoeing Plans for 2026?

I've paddled Grand Lake, Spednic Lake and the St. Croix, paddled it many times, love going there. Hmmm, maybe that would be an idea of a weekend adventure with some friends when I am back home this summer. Thanks for the idea!

Trouble Closing a Seal Line Map Case

That's a really good question. I have the large version of the RBW map case and it doesn't have the wide black strip at the top.

Do Canoes Distract from Drug Side Effects?

I think me not giving a small rodent's behind is a side effect of the pill I take everyday. But in all honesty, I think going out and doing something you love, like canoeing, can help elevate the side effects of medications, or at least distract you.

    plain hamburger

Hamburgers in the bush are great, oh so good! Regarding spam and the like, the only individually portioned, foil-pouch 'meat' I have been able to find in Canada is Clover Leaf tuna, single slices of spam, or pouches of chicken, don't seem to be available.

    Happens every year

Here in my part of Southern Ontario, near Sarnia, its not a problem finding groundhogs, nor is it a problem to find a coyote, their numbers have increase significantly in the past 20 years.

    Food handling while tripping

Mmmm, love Mackerel. Used to buy it from a fella out of the chest freezer on the back of his truck near Porters Lake, NS.

    Maybe you were, hmmmm.....

    T-Satellite

For me, the single device is not appealing, I don't want all my eggs in one basket. To me, there are many benefits of a Garmin over a cell phone, such as it is a much more ruggedly built device. And the Garmin is always in my pfd, I don't have to go looking for it.
