    Splash cover

The splash covers I ordered from Red Leaf Designs attaches with velcro. I asked them about the velcro verses the snaps and they told me the velcro was all I needed because I won’t be in whitewater.

So what exactly is everyone up to in their non-boating hours?

My Expedition is a 600 ACE. On a groomed trail I have gotten 21-24mpg. I took it on the “Trek Over The Top” poker run between Tok, Alaska and Dawson City, Yukon in 2019. It is too bad they closed it down during Covid. They ran that poker run for over 20 years. It was quite a sight to be in...

So what exactly is everyone up to in their non-boating hours?

I prefer to have a minimum of 2’ of snow when I ride my snowmachine. That way I stay above stumps and other things that can cause severe damage. The deepest snow I rode on was 21’ of snow off the Denali Highway. I have a SkiDoo Expedition so it will go just about anywhere I want to go.

I am plowing 18” of snow out of my driveway. If we get another good snow, I might bring out the snowmachine and go for a ride.

    Canoeing Plans for 2026?

I look forward to going on a canoe trip with you. Whichever loop or the Moose or Swanson River is fine by me. I really don’t know why the Swanson River Canoe Trails or the Swan Lake Canoe Trails aren’t more famous. If you fly into Kenai, you are 1.5 hours drive from being on the water and...

    Cold Water Thermophysiology

I was taught in the military that in an emergency situation, your training will automatically kick in and you will do what needs to be done without having to think about what needs to be done. I go out to a lake and over turn my canoe to learn where the point of no return is, to test my pfd...
