Nice find. I have one too but I have a svea stove so never thought of using it with a modern shove. One concern might be overheating the butane canister.

That’s beautiful Pat. I had an apple crotch but didn’t cut right away and it started to spalt, I’m not sure the boatbuilder friend I gave it to was excited as I was.

If you are tired of waiting for glue to dry you could get a wood welder. It cures glue in seconds. My friend used one when he built a strip bidarka. Is is quite amazing how fast you can put a hull together.

To me the best clamp is the one that works. There are lots of different styles for all different tasks. That said, all though I’ve never used them the Jimmy Clamps look like just the bees knees for strip building a canoe.

My daughter got this photo listed on North Country Public Radio website as today’s photo. Taken near Tupper Lake in the Adirondack’s. She is becoming quite a good photographer.
