We did that at Girl Scout camp.

I bring some version of homemade trail mix. This year it was pecans, M&Ms, dried cranberries and coconut flakes. It hangs out in the day bag for dipping into as needed. I put mini chocolate bars in with dinners as dessert. I make pancakes instead of bannock. Whole wheat flour, powered milk...

In the video, the 1000 went through the log like butter. The 650 went back and forth, and back and forth, and back and forth...just like my experience with all the handsaws.

The attractive feature of the Silky 1000 is how easily it cut through the 8 inch log. It was six swipes. With the 650 it was more than double that. For an aging lady, that’s a remarkable difference.

I love to see children out on the water. What a good idea to get a canoe!

There are piebald dear around me. One summer a doe and her fawn hung out in a clearing near the power line. I think they done last long because they are too easy for predators, including human hunters, to see. This picture, not mine, looks the most like the last doe I saw.

Excellent. The last two trips I really could have used a saw. One of these. Could fit nicely into my kit.
