Woodland Caribou Provincial Park-12 days solo

Thank you for the trip report. Your nicely composed pictures tell the story. Looks very peaceful there. It's a messy day of freezing rain here, but that report has provided some wonderful inspiration.

Algonquin-Ragged, Big Porcupine Lk Sept 2012

Yeah, come to think of it, I did use the canoe paddle once when approaching a tricky take-out--the kayak paddle just didn't cut it. but most of the trip was windy and wavy, so the kayak paddle was used 99% of the time.

Poll: Do you wear a PFD?

Always. My dad was a coroner. Heard enough stories to know what to do, to avoid being a story myself!

    Rethinking my ditch kit....

I thought about ditch kits when I read the Maddie the Goose website. He (Troy) always wore a ditch kit. But like PineMartyn and Beavertail, I didn't want it to get so big it would be a pain. So I carry a really small fanny pack with: emergency bivy sack, 3 power bars, lighter and tinder...

    Algonquin, Rock-Harry-Louisa
