My wife the yoga instructor would caution that you should talk to your teacher prior to class about your shoulder. A good yoga teacher will then give you ways to modify each pose so as to limit damage and maximize theraputics. But it takes a good, experienced yoga teacher to do that...

How about a Badger La Bonga? Although advertised as a "short powerful blade," I think that is more in comparison to their more traditional lake paddles. Only 104 sq in of area, in contrast to more traditional river paddles (e.g., BB Explorer at 124").

Buy it. Paddle it. If you don't like it, sell it. Highly unlikely you'll lose significant money on the deal, and then you'll know the answer. :)

On wood gunnels you'd loosen the screws for the winter so the gunnels and hull can move independently. Not sure your aluminum gunnels are screwed, but I doubt it. I also don't think it is an issue with aluminum gunnels.

Very nice. All the old and abandoned firepits I find are circles, and there are many of them on the island I usually paddle to. I should start rebuilding at least some of them to be more useful, and keep this idea in mind when I come across others that are in out of the way places.

I did pipeline construction one winter in Wyoming many years ago, and the coveralls were all the rage. Definitely an outdoor activity though.

In addition to a bunch of day paddles I did a few overnights from the house to one of the campsites on the Connecticut, and really enjoyed it. Plan to do them more frequently this coming season. Also planning a trip down to the MA line -- 4 or 5 nights. May do it solo or, if I make the effort...

BB Arrow probably. I have one. Since I almost exclusively j-stroke for corrections, it works fine. If I want to get fancy I'll use a different paddle, but a standard j covers a lot of ground. And I could goon stroke I suppose.

Any vehicle that runs and has a roof rack is a good canoe vehicle I think, but a Mercedes kinda fits with a Swift.

Not much to add except that Wenonah Spirit IIs could be had with a third seat at one point. Early 2000s I think. I always figured it was for family/kid use.
