Minnesota is lifting the stay at home order Sunday at midnight and allowing dispersed and remote camping so it is highly likely the Feds will follow suit and reopen the BWCA Monday for overnight use. Whether or not they also remove the fire ban remains to be seen.

To each his/her own I say. Either way it is all about how you care for your canoe, a glued on or screwed in set of gunnels left out on the ground will need to be replaced sooner than later. Can't tell you how expensive canoes I've seen that need repair because of this.

Aramid and Kevlar are the same, you can get different weights just like in fiberglass so it could be any of your various options.

I like putting a piece of duct tape on the stems and challenge folks to see who can go the longest without wrecking it. Skid plates on a new canoe are just excuses for abuse.

Please note that cabosil is basically powdered fiberglass and you should wear a mask and gloves. I suppose limited exposure won't kill you but it can and will get into the air and your lungs if not protected.
