New to me Portage Pal trailer

I too used a boat trailer and built a box on it to make it multi purpose. The canoe rests on bars, short for one canoe and longer for two canoes. I did a build thread on here somewhere but couldn’t find it. Here it is in use moving my crap up to Maine. Jim

    Light weight griddle

If this is better suited to the diy thread please move it for me. I saw video the other night about a diy camping griddle, it intrigued me so I thought I’d have a go and make one (or a couple) to pack in with the fire box I made a couple of years ago. In the video they took 22 gauge weldable...

16’ Great Canadian Canoe Info Needed

Maybe years ago they used canvas but these come from the factory with glass. They use the 4oz glass to save weight because there is the whole rib structure inside. I’ve repaired and maintained quite a few of them. Jim

16’ Great Canadian Canoe Info Needed

Varnish is what you want but it looks like the glass is worn through in a couple spots, if my reading of the photos is correct you need to patch those first. I think 4 oz glass is what they use. Jim

    Shipping of Yakima round bars

The cheapest way to ship things is through PirateShip. I haven’t used it yet but my friend says it saved him a bundle shipping Christmas gifts. Apparently you sign up with PirateShip upload the weight and dimensions of the package, it calculates and then you print out a label. You can use UPS or...

My daughter sometimes helps with the salamanders. I haven’t seen turtles yet we still have some ice on the ponds but we have two pairs of Wood Duck that come to our backyard feeder and they arrived yesterday. It is quite a sight to see them come walking out of the woods and the walk back into...
