    My first Build

No Title It has been a few weeks since I started this thread, and much work has been accomplished. The first task was to make space in the shop and unload few things, to make room for the build. Then year end work and cold weather moved in and things almost came to a halt. However, we are now...

    My first Build

Progress has been made. The strong back is almost complete, just need to clear out a bot more room to finish setting it up. The pattern has been transferred to poster board, next is to transfer it to the plywood. On the stems, the pattern is for an inter stem, I want to go stemless...

so for 3/16" strips use a 1/8" radi and for 1/4" use a 3/16", or is that to much a difference? Also, any thoughts on a combo bit vs. two separate bits?

    My first Build

Well, with three boys under the age of 14, which all like to build things, and another on the way, I hope they do to. One fear, is most stuff will need to be completed in 4's, as one is always jealous ;-)

    My first Build

At Jim: My plans have the WL II at 13' 6", why do you recommend stretching to to 14'? Better tracking? Regarding 3/16" strips, would you still use 4oz cloth as Mac recommends in his book, or go with 6oz? Did you use an internal stem, or stemless? My plans are for a stem, which i am still...

    My first Build

OK, i have decided to start my first build over the coming winter. I have read Canoe craft at least twice and followed the numerous builds here over the last few years. Thanks to Jim and Bens recent build, me and my boys will be tackling the Wee Lassie 2. This provides our clan with an...

    Best tripping coffee mug?

Might check out www.RTICcoolers.com. They have 10, 20, and 30 oz cups with varies types of lids, and add on handles. A very similiar design to the Yeti; however, 1/4 the cost.

    Help IDing a canoe

THanks for the reply. It is listed as a barn find in Columbus Ohio. If Comumbus is anything like the Indianapolis area, these are all transplants. I have requested photos of the decks, hopefully they will come through. Is white cedar required for the ribs, or will red cedar work?

    Help IDing a canoe

Good evening all. Trying to ID a canoe off the few photos I have been sent. It is currently listed on Craigs List, and started out a few weeks back at $500, now he is down to taking offers. It does need some work, a few new ribs, some planking replaced, and canvas; however, nothing that...

    Any ideas on the model?

Founds this cedar strip advertised over on BWCA . Any thoughts on what model it may be and a possible value? Initial price seems high to me.

    Question about Minnesota regulation

Not always. Since we do not have to register here in Indiana, I had lost the Cerotificate of Orgin sometime in the past. This just caused the need for an additional form stating your ownership of the canoe, nothing more. For registeration here in Indiana, the base fee for a canoe is $21, plus...

    Question about Minnesota regulation

Indiana does not require registration of canoes, unless there is a motor involved. However, we do have to purchase a state Lake permit tag to place on the haul for select state controlled waters. We went to the BWCA last year and I just purchased the MN tags, which is a three year tag, and...

Video: 7 Days in Algonquin Provincial Park 2015

How did your Algonquin trip compare in cost to past BWCA trips? Were there any critical items you could not take and had to purchase locally? We have watched a number of videos on the park, really like the looks of it, adn it is a few hours closer than the BWCA.
