No Title i just hang one of these from the inside top of my whelan -- the top corners clipped together so it's upside down V shaped with extra material hanging limp in the middle -- i put small rocks, or gear, on the ground in the corners and mid-point along the sides to hold them out and away...

Planning my first Cedar strip canoe.

used a chum and earlier a (nova-craft) bob special for weekend tandems for over a decade...not a bad boat for that, a bigger boat is faster and has more freeboard and room for a dog, but the chums is good out for about a week thro moderate water -- these day's i'm using a prospector 16 for solo...

Help me decide on a cook set.

i stock up on second-hand nesting aluminum billy pots, =~ 1,2,3 litre with lids and good bails...everything but non-stick, i bring a pan for frying...dont' know why i'd need more -- sometimes i leave the large pot out, usually not -- the top is a great doog-food dish. in my dreams, i have the...

Now to find room for it all

nice -- i bag everything by meal, and then by day in a bag. each day a bag with a number...mostly idiot proof. for longer trips i add things like extra (isobutane) fuel cans and toilet paper, gorp and gatorade at appropriate intervals. i have a 'master' food bag that the staples and extras...

i haven't got sectional poles for the campfire...if i had, i would probably use them. and i'm still looking. works okay with the ridge-line and a couple timberline sections to hold the front up and another couple in the back for a nice taught roof. tho, mine's canvas with a vinyl impregnated...

    affordable baker tent

...i find the whelans a little more versatile, and lighter than the campfire for almost the same amount of coverage. ideally, i think the baker/campfire is a 'better' tent, buttons down tighter, more configuration options, zip-up bug screen, sewn-in floor etc... but practically, for the...
