It truly is an “urban” portage. Not to take away from the times these athletes turned in, but no 60 pound pack, no wet feet, no slippery rocks at the take out or put in, no downed trees to climb over and if you get injured there are probably medical personnel nearby. I guess I have different...
The ad made no mention of becoming a marvel of the scientific world. By the looks of that boat, you would probably contract some disease unknown to modern man!
We have gone to a couple and they have been worthwhile, inspiring and a good time.
There have some excellent films.
Plus, there are paddlers there: canoe, kayak, SUP and kayak fishers.
I would recommend them.
Have a great time.
We have used the Wind Paddle Brand in the Cruiser and Adventure sizes.
They have been used on single kayaks, tandem kayak and tandem canoe.
They are well made; easy to mount, stow and deploy; lightweight and are really best for tandems with two people ( in our experience).
We are enjoying a beautiful day trip on Trout Lake in the Chippewa National Forest of Minnesota.
Started on Wabana Lake into Little Trout and now stopping for lunch on Trout. It virtually uninhabited except for the very north end. It is fishing opener here but very quiet on Trout.
Sorry...
The ice is out in our area, finally. Our second paddle of the season and we got (had!) to try out our new Wenonah Garbage Scow. It is a converted MN II and it performed wonderfully in calm conditions to haul ourselves and over one-hundred pounds of trash from Lake Victoria during a seven mile...
I wanted to put this website on here to promote some great products and information.

There has been a tremendous amount of time that has gone into the pictograph information and I felt the site deserved a shout out.
The pictograph bulletins have...
Take a look at the Joos Orange.
For us, it has been reliable, very functional, easy to use, compact, durable and provides the power we have needed.
The one drawback, in our experience, is that it may be a little heavier than comparable chargers.
Central Minnesota here. Fairly cold winter with little snow. Consequently, the ice is thick. Our earliest open water, lake paddle has been April 1. We will be lucky to be on any lake around here by the middle of April. Happy Easter everyone!
Not 2.5, only 2" thick, the Thermarest Trail Pros have done well for my wife and I.
Very comfortable, medium price, reasonable weight, easy self-inflation, durable and the new ones appear even better with the added air bolster.
During one of my first trips in the BWCA I had a very memorable experience. Our crew was traveling on one of the larger border lakes on a quite calm day. Along the middle of this big lake, and a significant distance from any shore, a Ruby Throated Hummingbird landed on one the packs in my...
I have had very good success with the Wiha Brand. They have some very nice sets and at least three different grades. I have the Micro Finish set and like it very much. They also have some great precision size and offset screwdrivers. However, they are not made in the USA. Best of luck.
