How did your Algonquin trip compare in cost to past BWCA trips? Were there any critical items you could not take and had to purchase locally? We have watched a number of videos on the park, really like the looks of it, adn it is a few hours closer than the BWCA.

Thanks Rippy. All of my boys are pre-teen and light weights. So for the near future overloaded would not be a problem. I work with numbers during the day, so my intent is to put a spread sheet together with all of the various modle stats for a comparison and see what looks to fit the need...

How about a 5 cup Mors pot, @ 6.7 oz and hard HA, with a small Paderno blue steel cake pan as a skillet @ 4.8oz. They should nest well and both should be available in Canada and at least in the states under $30.

Have you tried the Niteize S Biner? Used teh SS ones last week on our trip and they held up well.

What is the size of your Barrel, a 15 or 30 liter? And as far as caring an ax, it looks like you could modify the side to secure one there.
