    3 Days in the Sylvania

Just returned from 3 lovely days in the Sylvania Wilderness in the Southern UP of Michigan. Had exquisite weather , daytime in the 70s, nights low 50s and NO BUGS!! Saw a few folks but certainly a good wilderness vibe that is still close to home. (Green Bay).

Hello from Northeast Wisconsin. Home of the Cheddar head

Probably on the July 4th weekend there is. We were going to do it as a long day paddle. I looked 2 days ago and 2 of the 5 sites were still available at that time for the night of the 2nd.

The first canoe you ever PADDLED and the circumstances

When I was about 6 or 7 my dad and the neighbor 2 doors down decided to build wooden canoes. One at each house. Not strippers mind, just canoes out of wood and marine epoxy. So they would get together at one house, build one step on the 1st canoe then take what they had learned and apply it...

Hello from Northeast Wisconsin. Home of the Cheddar head

I was raised paddling boats of all types since I was a kid. Started with rowboats and the ubiquitous Al Grumman. Paddled rafts down the Snake River in WY for a summer job. What a treat that is. Years went by and I bought my 1st canoe, a fiberglass Malecite. What a boat! Raised 3 kids in...
