Nice report @TrailBlaser I've enjoyed the area as well and hope to walk the old roads more on my next visit. @stripperguy how far were you able to paddle toward Rock River? Did you make it down near Pine Lake?

    Adirondack Travel May 2019

Took a trip to the St. Regis Area and Whitney Wilderness Area in May with a Mad River Explorer in Kevlar . One trip with a friend and another with my wife and doggie. Always spectacular beauty in the nature and travel of the region. My only complaint was the Adirondack air-force aka bugs seemed...

St. Regis Canoe and Trout Fishing

My friend and I drove up north for the last four days of NY Brook Trout Season. We paddled into the St. Regis Wilderness Canoe Area and I captured some details of the trip on youtube as part of the Get Out In It 2018 Challenge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xbpj...ature=youtu.be We traveled...

Horses sure look like a nice way to spend your time. The wild mustangs and shed look right at home. I appreciate all your traditional canoe videos and the motivation you've provided for folks like myself to get out and camp with canvas. Still plenty of accessible paddling locations and...

Bog River Flow to Oswagatchie Traverse

A lot of small trout between the beaver dams at the headwaters but after High Falls the river got kinda muddy and sunlit. We did see a bear swim across just before High Rock! I really like to capture video and look back on it but definitely could improve quality for viewers..it just takes...

Bog River Flow to Oswagatchie Traverse

Thanks a lot for the info, will check it out. I paid Raquette River Outfitters to shuttle my car to Inlet so never drove through that way. More to explore!

Bog River Flow to Oswagatchie Traverse

Maybe whitefish or chubbs. It was all trout for us, plenty good eating size, they were delicious with kerry butter and adobo. Yeah, yellow and crocs. And he wears blue or red shirts that drive me crazy because i like the earth tone color aestetic out in the woods. Have to admit tho I now...

Sounds great, I wish I could and have been wanting to try that trip but have too many days off before and after to pull that off.

Bog River Flow to Oswagatchie Traverse

I'd consider entry from Lila next time or just going in and out of Inlet for the Upper Oswagatchie. If I'm ever back I would want to stay 2 days on the upper O section. Havnt yet explored the Wanakena area so that may well happen next season.
