This is the boat. There are more wildfire's compared to hemlock boats and some other smaller brands. Still there are not that many and most owners seem to like them. Greg is the inspiration for the sailing. I did sail his flash about a decade ago. I live next to a lake of about 2 by 6 km...

"I would not use varnish; varnish turns things yellow. The bottom scratches look trivial, it looks like you don't need to do anything. If you want to freshen the outside I recommend" On some parts the gelcoats has worn true. So the carbon fibres are not protected anymore.

The bottom is not pristine. The gunnels are aluminium. Luckily it is not as bad as the first bell fire I owned and refurbed. https://www.songofthepaddle.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=619973#p619973 That boat is still paddled weekly my gf.

    Life jacket suggestions

Fit is imho the most important. Good fit is wearing it. I always hope a good shop is nearby so people can try lots. Especially on flatwater/ big lake paddling i like a flat slim front. So me does not hinder a selfrescue. A number of pfd's have a low thick foam that is a pita to get over the...

    Dagger Impulse vs Esquif Vertige

I would only buy if it was the only thing that i could buy to get me on the river. You have a nice fleet. I can not see many thongs the impulse can do better then the vertige.

    Esquif Echo

The main question is a origninal echo or the 2.0 version.. Not sure of what jokes are local. I like the wenonah black cushions on them.

New Swift Prospector 15 Solo - Specs?

Sad to hear it does not work out. I am bad in numbers i guess you have looked at the bell/swift/colden starfire and hemlock eaglet? Each boat is a compromise. Some work better then others. Gettting the seatheight right is crucial.
