not exactly canoe related but bought a $30 muskrat coat and decided to line my winter camping mitts(with newly knitted wool liner). also lined my moccasins and have enough left over to make a fur hat! I love kijiji.
Robin, as for the bear prints it was just drawn on with a pencil and then filled over with a marker. the beeswax went over top of it. not sure of the longevity of the print but its there for now
I bought a sheet of canvas for some previous project. (painters drop cloth canvas) at Canadian Tire, home depot has same thing. just cut out a square folded in half and sewed one side and the bottom. I sewed it twice for added strength. as for the beeswax part I just used a beeswax candle and...
Nothing too groundbreaking here but I wanted to make some natural material bags for my wannigan. I made these from canvas and waterproofed with beeswax.

I still am working on the top and I am going to be weaving a traditional tumpline from jute twine. my 2 1/2 year old currently is using it as her toybox :confused: but I`ll try to get an inside pic this weekend.
