Here's a YouTube channel from the UK I recently subscribed to. Giles Binyon hikes and wild camps in southern England using natural fabrics and traditional gear.
He's an informative and pleasant fellow who's trying to get back to basics. Enjoy.

Quite interesting.

Did he say not to camp under yews because they'll steal your soul at night? A google search does indicate that was a belief.

He was sleeping on a sheepskin. I have done that when car camping. There is nothing softer or warmer than sheepskin.

I guess there are not any predators in England so no need to keep cooking and sleeping areas separate. Apparently not any mosquitos either.

Still, camping under tarps and with minimal gear interests me. Thank you for posting.

I watched this and a couple more of this guy’s videos. Reminds me of some of my homemade camping adventures from my childhood. Without a car or license to drive yet, I was limited to a handful of miles surrounding the family farm in Northern Minnesota. Lucky for me the North Cormorant River, South Branch of Battle River and Meadow Brook were near by. My little buddies and I, on day trips would construct lean-to shelters that we would use later for overnight camp outs. Thankfully Northern Minnesota of my youth was pretty much wild country, unlike the country side depicted in these videos.
I like the Roger Barnes messing around in boats videos much better.

That's an interesting part of Minnesota. If I'm not mistaken you have lake country, bog lands, boreal forest, hardwood forest, and cattle land all within a 45 minute drive or so.
