Put in at Hemlock Covered Bridge and a mile upstream you come to Kezar Pond. Lunch on the Dick Arsenault memorial campsite. That is a snow free ( for now) Mount Washington in the background.

Thanks for the report. Short trips are better than no trips. I especially like that picture with Mt. Washington. What boat did you use?

Is this on the Saco river?
We paddled part of it near Fyeburg in a rental canoe a couple of weeks ago
we came out in an area called pig farm
A beautiful area

Yes it is in Fryeburg but it is the old course of the Saco. The Saco has had several courses over the floodplain in the eons it has been around. This one starts in Lowell and intersects the main current course of the Saco about three miles before Walkers Bridge on 302. It is rarely paddled as rental shuttles don't service it.

Looks like a great spot - adding it to my list of places to get to. Thanks!

We fly in from Florida to Conway New Hampshire in September to hike the white mountains ( and get out on the rivers) so we are stuck with canoe rental and shuttle services which as YC said service a limited number of put in and put out locations
The surrounding parts of Maine and New Hampshire are beautiful and completely different from Florida which is why we have been coming to this region for 15 years to cross country ski in the winter and hike in the fall

And chuckling now. We spend a month in February in Florida... for paddling.. Chassahowitzka, Cedar Key, Dead Lakes, Itchetucknee, Silver River Juniper Run , Fisheating Creek Wacassa River, Wacissa River and the Everglades are all on our usual paddling list. Rock Springs Run sometimes. This year we will try to figure out how we can paddle the Apalachicola without a shuttle.
