ZRE (and GRB Canoes) have changed ownership and moved

I don't recall if this news has been posted, but I was just talking to Chad Swander at ZRE today and found out that Bob Zaveral sold the ZRE business in November 2024 to Chad. Chad has moved the business from New York to Grayling, Michigan. Bob Zaveral remains as a consultant of sorts and his son, Ryan, has moved with the company to Michigan. Chad says he intends to keep up the entire ZRE business ongoing while hopefully also investigating some product additions and improvements.

Thankfully GRB remains in Canton, NY. Gene and John Newman manufacture exactly equivalent performance paddles, Always have been generally a fair bit less expensive than ZRE.

The Newman brothers in Canton now retain only their paddle making business. They sold the GRB canoe making business earlier this year to Max Eaton in Wilmington, NY, which is within the Adirondack Park. Here is the new GRBmax website:
