US and CA approve "Level 50" PFDs: What they are

Just a word of warning- in Canada, as in many jurisdictions, An inflatable must be worn, even if inflated "at all times while engaged in water activities" -after activation, the inflatable must be tested and recharged to be considered a legal PFD.
A buddy narrowly missed a nasty fine on a trip after accidentally triggering it, only because his paddling partner had a old spare PFD in the canoe that he used as a sit pad and pillow...
from Canboat-"An enforcement officer will only recognize an inflatable PFD of any kind if you are wearing it while on deck. If you are not wearing the inflatable PFD then you could be subject to a fine of over $250."
also they're illegal for whitewater use or by anyone under 16
Good points worth repeating. I only use mine locally for related reasons. And in the US, it's also only legal if you're wearing it. Thanks for contributing that.
