"If you were to drop a pin in the center of Curry County, Oregon, along the border of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, you would be able to reach five waterways designated as U.S. Wild and Scenic Rivers within 40 miles of each other—the Rogue, Illinois, Chetco, Smith, and Elk rivers. It’s the highest concentration of any one county within the contiguous United States."

I have run the Rogue, Illinois and Chetco, as well as the Umpqua several times. Those rivers are best suited to rafts and drift boats. They are mostly too rough for loaded canoes. Great wildlife and great fisheries. They are known for salmon and steelhead, but in summer there are a lot of small bass to be had for dinner.
