Thanks for the video. It is somehow reassuring to know that those fish are out there moving nutrients through the ecosystem in Quebec. I can only hope that Atlantic salmon stocks in the East continue to expand in the US and Canada. I have eaten fresh A. salmon in Ireland and it was really good.

I worked in Alaska often doing water quality monitoring around salmon streams. It is really impressive to be around salmon all day. There are 4 runs of Pacific salmon and after awhile they are easy to tell apart. In that country, salmon runs mean bears, all the time. They are amazing to watch. I have seen hundreds of salmon herded with the prop wash on a helicopter. Fish with large claw marks. All of the biggest fish I have ever caught have been spawning salmon by hand in shallow water wearing waders.

Loved the video. Has me wondering about the present situation of the Atlantic stocks. Anyone know if they are making a come back or is the situation still dire.
