Just finished Is A River Alive? , recently published by Robert Macfarlane. He seeks to answer the title’s question from a philosophical perspective by traveling to rivers in Ecuador, India, and Quebec and immersing himself in three different rivers’ stories. Fascinating & thoroughly enjoyable, he explores the “Rights of Nature” movement, and how rivers affect our history, entomology, psychology, sociology, theology and politics. Excellent.
