PS seller takes it out in NYC harbor, salt water mixing with fresh...bad stuff to paddle in from my readings

Well it could be anything from those pictures. What it is, is a nice canoe for that price. I would look for salt blooms around the tacks though since it has been used in salt water.
Canvas condition would be the issue that either makes or breaks the deal.

Thanks, seller told me he bought it 4 years ago not far from NYC, about 30 miles out for app $1200 He said he only paddled it twice and it was stored outside under a tarp which blew off often. I asked for some side pics. I did some reading last night on this site and read about the restoration of a boat (think it was Robin's) and when the canvas came off there wasn't to much sat damage around the tacks.
But if the canvas is good you can't see what's under it. Looks like 1 cracked gunnel but other than that it might just be the right type of boat that I can work on and clean up without breaking the bank and learn the w/c secret handshake!
