After perusing this board many times I've decided to join -- and looking forward to gaining some new shuck buddies. I'm an older geezer who has a canoe heritage but since relocating to MS 35 years ago I've switched over to paddling pirogues which are self-built. Married, 4 kids, 2 grands, and a black lab named Pancho. Pancho is the best paddling buddy I have. I also write and make music and perform in local pubs/venues with other musical hobbyists. Looking forward to the interaction. Doc.

Welcome Doc ,I've got a Black, Chocolate and a Boxer/Lab mix but none of the like the canoe.

I've paddled a bit of the Pearl. And Magee Creek to the Bogue Chitto. We put in at a bridge with an awful metal ladder for going down.. part was gone. IIRC we just lined the boats down the bank. We got out at the Canoe and Trail Outpost where our van was.
It was a day trip with Cliff Jacobson his wife and a vanful of us.. While Cliff did the shuttle, his wife packed his daybag with rocks....
It was a fun little creek!
