October 12-13. A group of 3 canoes with 6 people put in at the hwy16 bridge and paddled down to the hwy4 bridge. We used Rochelle's canoe service for shuttle. It was roughly 20 miles and we took 2 days to do it. Started out at 28f Saturday morning when we started but warmed up nicely during the day. My daughter and I paddled a 14' River Rouge canoe and the others paddled 17' aluminum Ouachita canoes. The river was running at about 135cfs and wish it was running a little more. We dragged a handful of times and had to get out and drag the boat through the shoals. It was my daughter and one couples first time doing an overnight trip. We fished for little the first day. Caught 3 nice bass and seen a bald eagle. It was a lot of fun with a lot of paddling. The river had a lot of long slow pools to paddle through. The next time we do this trip I would like to take at least 3 days so that you can fish a lot more. Here are some pics of the trip:
