I believe Pipestem SP WV is open year round. You can paddle the New river, Bluestone river and Bluestone lake all within 15 minutes.

I'm just a day tripper that mostly spends his time fishing, but I do need a comfortable seat. I added an Eds Canoe web seat with a back rest the same size as a Wilderness System Phase 3 seat. Then I added a 1" pad under the cover. The back is adjustable for height and angle.

I bolted mine in for the paddle clips since there is one on top and bottom side of the thwart. On the pole clips I used screws

I use 1" pole clips to hold two paddles and the handles of two poles. The front end of the poles I use 3/4" pole clips. To portage everything is tight with the 1" clips but the small ends of the poles requires a small bungie to hold them tight.

That is a very nice trip! I have always wanted to catch a day where there was snow on the ground and I could take the canoe out. My days off and those snowy days seem to never line up.

I've been down the path at the tram. No way I would carry that! I've looked on Google maps and it looks like there is a road on the opposite side from Pipestem that connects to the Bluestone about halfway between Pipestem and Bluestone parks. I can't see where it connects to though. Those...

I don't know of any place to get on the Bluestone river near Pipestem. I always wanted to try to that trip as well.

Hello, Acer. Where was your pic taken at? I've spent quite a bit of time fishing Blustone lake and the upper New to Indian Creek/ Bull Falls campground. The Bluestone river where it meets the lake.

Re: What are you paddling? I have a Rapidfire that I use the most, but I do still paddle my tuffweave Prism a few times a year. I cut the height of the Prism down and gave it a look close to a Clipper Solitude.
