Hey guys, I recently put together a video on waterproofing options, mostly about the different types of drybags, pelican hard cases, along with barrels and the Yeti Backflip (a submersible backpack cooler). Let me know what you think, and feel free share what gear you use to keep your food &...

    Blue Canoe Barrels

These barrels are classic, make sure to get yourself a solid harness for it too. I personally recommend the Level Six “Badhass Adjustable Harness”. As far as can see it’s the best universal barrel harness on the market. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Compleat Guide to Modern Bear Deterrence

Had plenty of black bear encounters, they don’t bother me in the slightest, will usually throw up a bear hang as a deterrence; if they want my food they’ll at least have to put in some serious work to get it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How to Solo Lift a Canoe

Very interesting yellowcanoe, I’ll have to give that a shot, still trying to wrap my head around how this method works, but I think I get it, in theory at least. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How to Solo Lift a Canoe

Got love those trees for solid a break on the trail, have always called them “V” or “Y” trees, in fact some portages like the 2.8 km on the North T loop in Algonquin already have canoe rest already built Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What Paddles do you guys use!

Beauty pics! I also, like Bruce am not a big fan of bent-shaft paddles, I find them too niche and not versatile enough, at least for style of paddling. But to each their own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Totally Bugged Out

Just recently came back from the Petewawa River in Algonquin, the bugs were definently out in force this year, we were all decked out in our big net suits also known as “Muskoka lingerie” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What Paddles do you guys use!

Hey guys, was just wondering what paddles everyone uses and for what purposes. Nowadays I primarily use my Grey Owl Guide Cherry 60 for most of my flatwater canoe trips and use my Werner Bandit Carbon 56 for use in Whitewater. Please feel free to share your opinions on the subject and let us...

    Urban Paddling

Hey guys, I know many members on this site are accustomed to paddling in wilderness environments, but there are also great opportunities to have a great time in urban environments. I find that this is a great way to get out on the water and to get friends into paddle sports in the first place...

    Choosing and sizing Snowshoes

Fair criticism, thx for the input. I will admit this video is more oriented towards modern snowshoes, although I do briefly make reference to the Huron / Algonquin style of snowshoes as well as the “bearpaw” and ojibwe styles. I personally prefer the modern options, much better at handling...

    Choosing and sizing Snowshoes

Hey guys, was wondering how many of you have had experience with snowshoes, for what purpose and where you’ve used them. Also if you own a pair speak up and let us know what you got. I have the “Atlas Access 30” Snowshoes and use them primarily for walks in the woods, small hikes and often will...

Building a Quinzee for Winter Camping & Survival

Yea it was definitely not luxurious, meant to be a quick solo survival shelter, was very warm and cozy despite being so tight on space within the interior of the shelter. The video was meant to illustrate how you build a quincee in a pinch with very limited resources.
