Regarding the OP, I spent several seasons with my Royalex Wenonah on my roof for months at a time. It didn't suffer any ill effects that I can tell, though I recognize the OP has kevlar not Royalex. My mileage suffered but it was worth it to get on the water faster and more often. Whatever...

What's the layup? Are you worried about impacts or the scrape and grind on Ozark streams?
